BUSINESS OF THE QUARTER
Congratulations to
Liquor & the Like honored as business of the quarter

The Elma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented the Business of the Quarter Award, for the third quarter of 2011, to Cindy Ann Tackett and Liquor & the Like. Board members and chamber staff presented the plaque to Cindy Ann at the store on September 1st.
Liquor & the Like was presented the award based on enhancement to Elma and support of the business community. Construction and remodeling of the Main Street store began in March 2010. The store officially opened on May 3, 2010. The attractive design and color scheme was created by Cindy Ann and husband David Tackett. The goal was to make it inviting and open. David did the artwork for the sign and Cindy Ann created the layout and colors inside. They also built the cabinets, cooler and shelving.
Cindy Ann Tackett decided to open the liquor store because she went shopping for liquor for a cake recipe and found the liquor store closed in town at 6:00 p.m. She also missed being self-employed so when the opportunity came up to run the liquor store she thought why not and why not do it right?
Cindy Ann works in the liquor store along with her husband David and one part-time store clerk and two part-time stockers. David and Cindy Ann Tackett belong to the Fraternal order of Eagles 1440, Elma. They also participate any way they can to support Elma by displaying signage in the store, making donations and helping to promote the community and it's events. Cindy Ann said “People get so excited to participate!”
Cindy Ann’s vision and goal for the future of the store are to continue to fine tune the products they carry to best fit customer's needs. And most of all continue to give Elma a Liquor Store to be proud of, somewhere a customer can feel welcome and appreciated. Cindy Ann enjoys talking with customers and making them smile or cheering them up on a bad day. She said “Not a day goes by that I don't hear someone say this is the Best Liquor store I have ever been in or Wow, what a great store - you have everything.”
